Butterflies

His back is to her.
He struggles in a silly mechanical task,
Putting screws into a recalcitrant
Electric panel cover
In a closet in her to-be house.
She watches, knowing he is unaware.

So love sneaks in on us and
We are caught off guard
And so are we captured
By the most innocent moment.

Chaos theory places butterfly wings
Moving air in Tibet
Next to hurricane
moving trees In Thailand

So we might place
A casual glance,
The coincidence of turning our eyes
At a particular moment
Next to the turning of our lives,
Forever.
