Equality

does not mean same.
I can lift more,
You, run farther.
I sort complex systems,
you, complex mind.
I write poetry,
you, philosophy.
Who should count these?
What weights could so measure
the strength and power
of two such souls
if they chose to entwine,
still individuals but
new, a unique dual-being
added, strengths multiplied.
So might be
their gifts to others.
So might be
their joy.
